Griffin of Ancient Persia
Along the theme of mythological creatures, I just completed a study of a Persian griffin. The original emblem was worked in gold and was I believe an item of jewelry. The rendering took most of 3 days. It is the same spot where I did the 'Couretesan of Water' piece months ago. The sidewalk along a chain link fence bordering a car lot near 20th and Valencia offers a good location. Drawn over the days 10-24 through 10-26.

I'm glad you posted a link to your blog. I've been appreciating your art for a few months now and resorting to taking camera phone pictures. Good stuff. Thanks for sprucing up my walks aroun the mission.
ReplyDeleteI like this piece a lot! It seems both substantial and whimsical... Great job!
